VIRTUAL PHOTOSHOOT
180º
180° is a virtual photoshoot editorial brought to you by Y! Magazine, that represents a deeper understanding of the ‘new normal’, and it’s effects on everyday life. The name ‘180’ stems from the gravity of the current pandemic, as it changes our everyday lives, shifting the world’s normal norms upside down (180 degrees). The photoshoot is divided into two articles, light and dark. The division of photoshoots and articles are based on the fact that the ‘new normal’ holds both a dark and bright side and both of these factors must be embraced, in order to succeed in the new normal.
As we all have suffered from unpleasant changes during this situation, the bright side of the situation should be divined to give hope to everyone. The ‘bright’ aspect of the photoshoot features the model Nevan Adriel that wears local designer pieces that has brighter colors that represent hope and happiness. However, some of the clothing pieces completely represent the feeling of the current pandemic: chaotic and numbness that is wrapped in positive energy. Y! Magazine wishes that the positivity that is about to be given visually will spread a positive mood to all the readers.
On the other hand, the ‘dark’ aspect of the photoshoot features the model Nadya Tjandradinata wearing pieces provided by up and coming local designers that are darker and much more chaotic in both their color and silhouette, whilst portraying over-all negative moods that invoke a deeper yet cryptic message behind them.
With all the limitations that we faced during the Corona outbreak, we still tried our best to give the fullest efforts to our assignments. So, these are the virtual photoshoot result of Y! Magazine.
